1966 Artisanal Rum Punch 1966 Rum Punch is a complex and layered return to the African continent. Ajani Husbands, a former diplomat and attorney, founded the artisanal rum punch brand. Husbands came up with the idea for the South African-based brand after noticing that the cultural significance given to rum in Barbados and other Caribbean islands was lacking in other parts of the world. Husbands, who was born in the United States to Bajan parents, felt compelled to enter the rum business. After leaving the corporate world, he began experimenting with various recipes, paying tribute to the traditional Bajan rum his mother used to make.
